EVER (European Volunteering for Environnement and Resilience)

The EVER project is set within an international context marked by a growing number of crises: climate disruption, biodiversity loss, limited access to essential needs, weakening institutions, and socio-political tensions. These challenges are particularly acute in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa, where populations face both the direct impacts of these crises and systemic institutional fragilities that hinder effective responses.

In response to these challenges, the project is based on the conviction that strengthening local responses and supporting organizations working closest to communities is essential. To this end, EVER mobilizes international volunteering as a lever for resilience, cooperation, and social innovation, complementing the actions of public, multilateral, and civil society actors.

Project objectives

  • Contribute to coordinated, territorial, and sustainable responses to environmental and social crises;
  • Strengthen the capacities of local organizations by enhancing their skills, autonomy, and quality of action;
  • Support young volunteers by providing them with a structured, educational, and safe engagement framework;
  • Deliver tangible benefits to communities by supporting local initiatives focused on adaptation, solidarity, and sustainable development.

These objectives align with the philosophy of the European Solidarity Corps: promoting solidarity, supporting vulnerable territories, and fostering the active engagement of young people in addressing major global challenges.

General framework

The EVER project runs over a three-year period, from January 2025 to January 2028. It is funded by the European Union through the European Education and Culture Executive Agency. Its implementation is ensured by a consortium of partners composed of France Volontaires, the ADICE Association, Movimiento por la Paz, el Desarme y la Libertad (MPDL), Mano a Mano, the VASE Foundation, and El Abrojo.

The project’s geographical scope covers Sub-Saharan Africa (Cameroon and the Republic of the Congo) and Latin America (Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, and Uruguay).
