Contexte de la mission
Life Project 4 Youth (LP4Y)
LP4Y is a federation of 17 local organizations spread across 14 countries, whose objective is to develop innovative solutions for the social and professional inclusion of young people (17-24 years old) from extreme poverty or victims of exclusion.
Over the past 14 years, LP4Y has designed solutions located near slums in major cities or in rural areas in the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Lebanon, working closely with Young Adults, who are participating in the development of their country and community.
Since 2009, LP4Y has supported the inclusion of 6,715 Young Adults and their families in the professional world.
These young people were supported through 19 Training and Development Centers, 6 Green Villages, 4 Little Angel Academies, and 2 LP4Y Labs in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
- Support: The most excluded young people through proven pedagogy and ecosystem enabling them to find sustainable employment independently and to be socially included in a decent world ;
- Raise awareness:In collaboration with young people from extreme poverty, proposes concrete and local solutions to inclusion issues, and offer them a platform for expression ;
- Engage: All initiatives in favor of young people at risk by sharing the expertise acquired, advising, creating inclusion networks for youth, and offering services and training.
Nature de la mission
Once trained in the LP4Y pedagogy and the use of our tools, the Program Coordinator (called Coach in the LP4Y pedagogy) supports a team of 15 to 20 Young Adults (17 to 24 years old) by developing their skills in the following areas:
- Pedagogy and monitoring: Allowing young people to regain confidence in their ability to act and find decent employment ;
- Development of micro-enterprises (social entrepreneurship): Soft skills: management, organization, planning, communication, professionalism, time management ;
- Hard skills: digital initiation, basic English/Globish ;
- Development of partnerships: Building an integrated ecosystem for young people ;
- Organization and management: Planning activities in collaboration with other Catalysts, budget management, monitoring and reporting of activities with the coordination team ;
- The Coach is supported on a daily basis by the country coordinator, supported by Project Leaders and specialists in each of these pillars.
Profil souhaité
For this mission, the Coach must:
- Be passionate about development and have initial field experience within an organization or company.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging and rewarding attitude towards young people, being aware of the image he/she gives off and its impact.
- Develop your interpersonal skills and know-how in a multicultural context.
- Transmitted with humor and enthusiasm.
- Know how to work in a team.
- The minimum duration of this assignment is 13 months (We recommend a 24-month assignment, which will allow you to acquire more in-depth Catalyst experience and develop professional and personal aspects)
- Be open, dynamic and enterprising.
- Seek an opportunity to develop character and skills in a multicultural context.
- Enjoy communicating with humor and enthusiasm.
- Be a committed teammate to make a real difference on the field.
- Fluency in English.
- Previous professional experience would be a plus.
Conditions de la mission
Environnement
In a Training and Development Center (TDC) in an urban environment, where young people live in the nearby community and follow a 6-month training course. In a Green Village (GV) in a rural environment, where young people reside on site for a 3-month training course.
Type de contrat : VSI – International Solidarity Volunteering or Civic Service.
